The Tham Sua temple was named after the tiger paws prints inside the cave. Krabi Tiger Cave Temple is just located on top of a jungle-shrouded steep set of stairs, where a splendid giant golden Buddha sits at 912 feet tall.
The challenging hike is also breathtaking but as well is well worth it for those views of the undulating forest-clad scenery, for the limestone crests of the Andaman Sea, as the surroundings of the Wat Tham Suea actually consist of tropical rainforest views, including many old trees in the Kiriwong Valley.
The cave complex is now used as a meditation site for Buddhists Monks. There are 1,237 steps to climb to get to the top of this amazing temple, the view is breathtaking, and lots of cheeky monkeys live near the bottom of the temple. They will try to pinch people’s belongings in exchange for food, so enjoy them and be aware of you belongings.
