In the islands there is such a variety of marine lakes, caves, sinkholes, sleep limestone hills. There is also a really high peak about 396 meters in Ko Phaluai island.
The real star of the National Park is the Ang Thong Lady’s Slipper Orchid (Paphiopedilum Ang Thong), found only here in Mu Ko Ang Thong. The woods consist here of evergreen forest on islands, and small woods the shores. All the islands are uninhabited while there’s a single village in Ko Wua Ta Lap and the other in Ko Phaluai island.
Did you know?
Ang Thong was such a famous destinations for all backpackers coming to Thailand, all inspired by the novel “The Beach”, by Alex Garland. This went on for many years. Till one day the movie starring Leonardo Di Caprio came out. In the movie the beach scenes were filmed actually on Ko Phi Phi, Krabi, his jump scene from the waterfall at the Haew Suwat Waterfall in Khao Yai National Park.

Ko Wua Ta Lap
The shore offers activities like swimming, snorkeling and canoeing/kayaking.
Ko Wua Talap is the island where National park guards headquarters can be found, at the Kha Bay in the northwestern end of the island.
There are just two beaches around the island, one is on the side of the island accessible by a long stroll through the woods, one at headquarters bay.
Wua Ta Lap Viewpoint
Accessible by a long steep street from the headquarter beach, the panoramic view is the park’s principal attraction, Revealing up the way requires about 25-30 minutes to walk, there are also ropes you can use to assist the walking climb.
Bua Bok Cave
By a 1km hike from the headquarters you will reach the cave, comprising stalactite and stalagmite formations.
Ko Mae Ko
Ko Mae Ko is the island with the beautiful emerald saltwater lake called Thale Nai, connected with the sea though caves. The lake is surrounded by cliffs, amazing for taking spectacular pictures
Ko Sam Sao
Situated just nearby Ko Mae Ko, this island offers a fantastic coral reef. There are no stores or restaurant around the island.
