Visit Poda island on Krabi 4 Islands Tour

Visit Poda island or well known as Koh Poda with a unique 4 islands tour. This tour is a popular day trip that begins in Krabi, which takes part in the agroupation of islands that are the closest to the coast, these are the once that can be seen on the horizon when on the beach. The four islands mentioned are Koh Poda, Koh Gai (Chicken Island), Koh Tub, and Koh Mor. The tour also stops at the majestic Phra Nang Cave Beach which is on the Railay peninsula. This beach, which is only accessible by a ship is considered one of the prettiest strips of sand in the entire world.

Koh Poda is very famous for its white beaches and amazingly clear turquoise water; the huge rock in front of it (pictured above) has been featured on countless postcards, screensavers, and touristic brochures, so don’t miss the opportunity to take your own photograph of the scenery.

After the visit at Poda island the cruise continue around the head of Chicken Island, with the odd rocky outcrop that made the island earn its name also makes for an excellent photo opportunity.

Fun fact: The Chicken Island is really called the Axe Island or the Koh Hua Gwan; it was dubbed  by Krabi’s first tourists and the nickname prevailed.

When the sea is at a low tide, the boat will stop between Chicken Island with the two tiny islands of Koh Mor and Koh Tub, where you will have the opportunity to walk along the sandbar that links the islands together.

There will also be a couple of stops at open water snorkeling sites, which could be near Koh Yawasam, a rocky outcrop with nearly intact coral reefs and a very nice pool of marine life marine life, or at the rear of Chicken Island, depending on the day. Snorkeling here is quite nice, but the quality has decreased due to the recent years of heavy boat traffic. Itinerary order varies throughout the season, this is so that the sandbar can be reached at low tide (at high tide it is barely visible) and will include a picnic lunch (or BBQ dinner) on one of the islands or beache
