Phuket island is really touristy, but also contains pleasant, silent and not as visited areas. You can do a whole lot on this particular island. It’s also a good deal if you want to see it solo, ideal to rent a scooter and explore the island by yourself.

The Sino Portuguese Phuket Town is not for you if you are looking for a beach, sea, and sun. But it is a rich place, easy to explore on foot, filled with so many cafes, great restaurants very scenic heritage buildings. Phuket has plenty of attractions, but a lot of visitors see just Patong, the nightlife and beaches. However, Patong or Kata is not Phuket! If you have time do not miss the chance to do tours around Phuket to see and experience amazing views, temples, markets and a whole lot more.

Phuket Big Buddha

The large Buddha statue 45 meters high (Phra Phuttha Mingmongkhon Akenakkhiri) is absolutely the Phuket landmark. From up the mountain top, you can view so many parts of the island. All around gorgeous views of the Chalong Bay, Kata and southern part of Phuket, all the other Phuket hills.

The Big Buddha is not the only highlight of the mountain. The views are our favorite highlight!
