Jungceylon Mall

The Jungceylon Shopping Complex, standing downtown, diagonally opposite Bangla Avenue, has radically changed Patong’s shopping profile. The complex’s two leading stores are Robinson-a bright, well-lit upper department store, and the Big C supermarket.

The 200-plus other shops in this shopping paradise do sell brand-name clothing, spectacles, sunglasses, cosmetics and perfumes, shoes, DVDs, computer games, plenty of mobile phones and accessories, electrical goods. Still, it’s also a great entertainment spot with a five-room SF Cinema and a 16-lane bowling alley, suitable for rainy days or to avoid the heat of the day.

Where to Shop in Patong? What to Buy in Patong Jungceylon Mall?

Shopping Arcade

You can really buy everything here, from a Kashmir-made rug to a facial massage on the lower floor of Jungceylon. It’s all cheerfully lit and spaced open and is designed to handle an estimated 45,000 shoppers a day. Although this number seems a little ambitious, considering that the official population of Patong is 14,700 (and swells to 60,000 in high season). Also, when shopping, it’s nice to have enough elbow room.

Robinson

Here you will find perfumes, cosmetics, watches and timepieces, Robinson’s downstairs stars. Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clinique, H20+, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Revlon, and Paul Smith are the brand names featured here. Most of the watches are Japanese and of mid-range price.

Upstairs, Robinson houses women’s shoes and accessories, and potentially Thailand’s most extensive range of women’s underwear–definitely Phuket’s best. Going through is a very enticing section of clothing for children that leads to the toy department, predictably enough.

There’s an exciting collection of pewter products on one side here; vases, cups, lighter cigarette coverings, and famous kind of souvenir plaques, as well as salt and pepper shakers, all at reasonable prices.

Patong Markets

Banzaan Market

Banzaan Market in Patong on Sai Kor Street, right behind the Jungceylon megamall, is a modern-looking Thai fresh market. You can get anything you’d expect from a local market but in a much more pleasant atmosphere. The rates are also fair.

The Banzaan Market is a well-known Phuket family who wanted to provide shoppers with an alternative experience, other than visiting a typical local market. In Hokkien, a standard Chinese dialect among many overseas Chinese communities across Southeast Asia, the word Banzaan means a fresh market.

Banzaan Market is located in a large building constructed by architects from both China and the West. It includes modern design its style (including escalators!) Items are presented elegantly and cleanly, enabling you to shop in style without the need for waterproof boots.

Once inside, you will see specific sections for meat, fish, vegetables, flowers, Thai sweets, and dried goods, as well as a selection of strange yet delicious fruits.

All are presented neatly, which makes for beautiful pictures.

Malin Plaza

Malin Plaza Patong provides an impressive array of souvenirs and fair prices in Phuket. It’s just as busy as most markets on the island, but in a more relaxed atmosphere and with cheaper food around it.

Some of the things you can buy at Malin Plaza Patong include t-shirts, jeans, beachwear, wallets, luggage, spa products. There are also many stalls with accessories for mobile phones, and a good range of trinkets and souvenirs. Some of Malin Plaza Patong’s shirt designs are original. Very few local markets have a tailor shop in Phuket, which makes this an excellent place to visit if you want something a bit different.

Under a high metal roof, Malin Plaza Patong’s central part is protected from the rain and sunshine. Within the market, semi-permanent shops occupy former containers for shipping.

These are well placed, ensuring the air stays cool and soothing–by installing windows, doors, and air conditioning, some shops go a step further. Prices tend to be higher than you could find in other markets in Phuket, but you can still negotiate down to a generous amount.

The market’s highlight is the impressive range of food stands in front of the roofed space. From Thai street food to fried chicken and chips to crepes, ice cream, sushi, 90-baht cocktails, and fresh fruit, you can find just about anything. The food is very good and cheap for Patong all over the world.

OTOP Patong Market

OTOP Patong Market Phuket promotes products produced locally in Thailand from sub-districts (tambon). His name is a’ One Tambon One Service’ acronym. The market is pushing village communities to improve the quality and marketing of their goods. For formal branding as an OTOP product, a superior product is selected from each tambon. Expect a lot of traditional craftsmanship, silk fabrics, cotton goods, pottery, fashion accessories, household items, and regional produce.

There are small bars in its compound that begin to fill up in the late evenings; the market gets busy. Stall owners seldom bother passengers that you often find on Soi Bangla and Beach Road.

Central opened Central Floresta in 2018, a large second wing that used to be the once-popular Thai Naan Restaurant.

The second, named Tribhum, is an amazing 3D theme park with 25,000 sea creatures. And Mamy, of course, never fails to bring you pictures of the city, including a bunch of various shops.

Central Festival Phuket

Central Phuket (Phuket Central Festival) is one of the island’s mega malls. It had a slow start, but it soon became prosperous.

Soon they opened another street wing, mainly hosting Baan & Beyond home improvement, home works, and lots of furniture.

You can use the bridge to walk and connect from Central Festival to Homeworks, to find a very large home supply store!

It is a multi-level department store that sells items ranging from upmarket garments, fashion accessories, silk goods, bedding, household goods, toys, and accessories for children, travel bags, food, and beverages. At the Central Mall, you can also watch and jewelry counters.

If you drive yourself to these Malls you can easily find parking space both for motorbikes and cars. If you are visiting the Malls on a rainy day, and you are with a motorbike or a scooter, I suggest you go to find parking at the Central Floresta, there all the parking areas are covered indoor!

Limelight Avenue Phuket

Limelight Avenue Phuket is a contemporary and small shopping center.

With a very relaxed atmosphere, Limelight is situated on New Dibuk Roadway, in the heart of Phuket Town, just a couple of steps far from Phuket Old Town.

Chillva Market Phuket

Chillva Market Phuket is a hip, trendy night market with a bohemian atmosphere and an impressive range of food and fashion stalls. Difficult to miss by Yaowarat Road (running by Tesco Lotus on the way to Phuket Town), it has a distinctive look created by using colorful shipping containers as shop fronts.

The shops in the upcycled containers are open daily. Still, the best time to visit is on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday when the flea market arrives in town, setting up tents and small hawker stalls to fill up this 6,400-square-meter area.

A small stage with a pond behind it and an amphitheater in front is at the center of the market. Both the stages host live performances when the market is in full swing.

Between local people, Chillva Market Phuket is more popular than tourists. To anyone who is not fluent in Thai, everything that happens on the stage is entirely incomprehensible. For trendy local teens, many of the items on offer are appropriate.

This gives you a lot more local experience on the upside than other markets in Phuket. In general, prices are fairer, with quality and trendy t-shirts from about 130 baht, 100 baht sunglasses, and 30 baht handmade beauty products.

Food vendors make up about half of Chillva Market Phuket’s stalls and permanent shops. You can find trendy bars, cafes, ice cream lounges, and a wide range of street foods. In general, the costs are very small. Large portions of the most famous shops on the market rarely exceed a few hundred baht.

Being quite small, walking around Chillva Market Phuket will not wear you out or take you to explore half the night. If the air is cooler and the market enjoys a much more vibrant atmosphere, it’s best to visit after 6 pm6 pm.

Phuket Town Central Market

Phuket Town Central Market (Talad Sod Satarana) is a large modern 4-story beige-and-white building where you can find just about everything and potentially more for sale.

The building’s exterior provides some shaded seating areas for people waiting for local front parked buses. At the same level, you can find shops selling dried fish, shrimps, cookies, coffee, tea, and other packed snacks.

Downtown Market

Downtown Market is situated in a soi–approx on the right side of the one-way Ranong Avenue. 100 m from the street entry, connecting the roads of Ranong and Krabi.

Pearls have been produced for over 40 years in Phuket and are remarkably beautiful and inexpensive. Phuket Pearl Shop in Phuket City manufactured Mabe Pearls, Akoya Pearls, and South Sea Pearls that are even used to decorating foreign beauty contests around the world.

Elephant Plush and Souvenirs

Elephants are all part of Thai heritage, and toy elephants come in a fantastic array of sizes, colors, and materials. When made of Thai silk, they range from relatively cheap to more sophisticated.

Phuket shopping outlet

On Bypass Street, Premium Outlet Phuket specializes in brand-name apparel and bargain-priced sporting accessories. Certain products on sale include, apart from Thai brands, Lacoste, Guy Laroche, Hush Puppies, Pierre Cardin, Van Heusen, Levi’s, Lee, Nautica, Adidas, and Nike. Many of these shops offer up to 70 percent discounts.

Its terracotta colors, large walking covered alley, and massive parking space, the architecture is quite appealing. When it opened, it was a bit of an occurrence.

Years later, there are still only a few big brands, but the environment is quite quiet, only a few people walk the big alleys.

Products on sale are the usual big labels, but obviously, the main draw is the massive Adidas factory outlet store.
